Earn credit for your Jewish Studies minor while studying World War II in a location that was one of the most important in the war--Poland. HIS 491 "World War II and the Holocaust in Eastern Europe" gives students the opportunity to learn about the Eastern Front and in particular the fate of the Jews and others targeted in the Holocaust. The course also includes a group visit to the notorious Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps. HIS 490 "Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Spain" will address Spain's history of tolerance and the present-day interactions of these three religions. The KIIS Barcelona program includes Jewish Studies faculty member Gretchen Starr-LeBeau teaching this course, plus numerous excursions to important sites in the history of Jewish Barcelona.
